- Refinement is a process that consists of hardening and high release in order to achieve
high values of tensile strength, yield strength and impact toughness - Annealing is a heat treatment applied after quenching to achieve better
properties, especially toughness, consists of heating at a certain temperature below AC1 and
keeping at that temperature for a specified period of time, depending on the requirements and type
material and then cooling at the intended rate and in the appropriate medium - Quenching is a process by which a material of critical behavior becomes fast
for a certain time afterwards cooling to obtain a mortensitic structure. This process produces steel of large
hardness, but also great brittleness with considerable internal stress, which is why it must be
does the firing - Annealing includes the process by which the steel is heated to a temperature at which it remains
certain time and then it cools more slowly than is the case with tempering. The target of annealing is
decrease in hardness, and more often it is due to the removal of residual loads in the steel after
welding or casting ie. annealing increases the toughness of the material. - Carburizing is the process of enriching the surface of steel with carbon. Carburized parts have a tough core and the surface layer ranges from 0.3 - 2 mm.
All these operations are carried out in pit chamber furnaces whose heat treatments are of pieces with overall dimensions of 900 x 2000. For the purposes of hardening of bevel gears that are in the production program of TTU energetika d.o.o. . heat treatment has an automatic press for hardening of bevel gears with a diameter of up to 700 mm. The dimensions of our furnace are fi 2000 and a depth of 2000 mm.
